I have some knee issues myself and this really helped answer some of the questions I had about my discomfort. Now I will be more understanding to the doctor’s prognosis when I go to my appointment. In sports training of my young children I will be more aware of the damage certain movements and overuse of the knees can potentially cause as well as what signs to look for in determining if there is a problem arising from the same. The Knee Injury Prevention Specialist happens to be my favorite course to date. I found taking a course that was so specific to one body part and all of its’ intricate workings fascinating. Having study questions also helped reinforce the information.

Now is the time to learn about prevention and proper knee injury support. I will use the information from this course with my clients one on one and when choreographing new classes and routines. I have learned that the knee is a very complex joint. I have had experience with arthritis, ACL reconstruction and meniscus tear along with physical therapy so I found these sections particularly informative and helpful. The book really stressed the negative effects of overuse and overtraining and the resulting injuries. I would stress the negative impact of overtraining and the importance of taking rest periods. I would stress the importance of stretching and strengthening. I would review the ways to reduce the risk of knee pain. This class was extremely informative. It was very well arranged and user friendly.

I learned about the entire lower leg anatomy and the connective chains that effect the complex knee joint. I also learned gout can strike in more than the big toe. When a client presents with knee pain, I will now address the hip and ankle mobility and flexibility. Great course and very insightful!
