Gained a wide repertoire of stretches! Everything from static to dynamic to PNF to foam rolling. Makes me want to stretch more and teach others the same.

A better understanding of when to incorporate different types of movements for patients before and after exercises and how to explain why they need to perform this different movements to prevent injury or enhance performance. I will add different stretching and foam rolling programs for my varied patient population from high school athletes to my senior walkers. I enjoyed the lab handouts.

More insight into what causes imbalances. Day to day working with my residents. Very helpful! Can’t wait to apply what I have learned in my day to day observing. I work with Seniors in a Retirement Community. As I went through the course, I could picture several residents that I will apply this to. My marketing skills have definitely improved. It’s given me a way to do things I never thought I was capable of.

The course further reiterated my love for balance training and the importance of it for all ages. As a home health therapist most if not all of my patients have balance deficits… so I will be incorporating and implementing the prevention strategies and exercises that I learned on a daily basis.

The Workbook gave me ideas for furthering my leadership skills and contributing more to my patients. I am going to fine tune a fall prevention brochure/handout that can be taken from the lobby of my workplace and I am going to do some of the special tests to patients to see where they stand compared to their initial eval w/ better explanations on how things should be performed. It was a good learning experience and I am glad for the new ideas I have taken from it.

Increased awareness of the importance of incorporating Balance exercises for ALL patients. Too often we focus on stretching and strengthening and forget that balance work and focus on fall prevention can help save lives (literally). I will be performing balance screenings, recording baseline scores and reassessing every 4-6 weeks and/or with significant changes in health status. This will also give me concrete starting points for developing exercise programs and knowing how to progress/modify. Once I got into the flow of things, I really appreciated the organization and the time spent on developing this course! Very informative and practical and I loved that I could work at my own pace.
